Italian Humanist Society

During the renaissance period a person’s self-worth and dignity became an important factor of society. At the same time there were conflicts and controversies’ surrounding what were true and what was made up. This later lead to groups of people or a person called humanists or humanist. This included reviewing a mix of different philosophies such as ethics, speaking, history and poetry to name a few. There are further approaches to the concept that involve more educational study such as natural science and logic.

While there was an assortment of information and beliefs being researched it seemed there were often times of disagreement. For instance, some humanists’ belief education should only be necessary for certain occupations while a different group of humanists felt education should be access by broader groups of people and professions. In a sense you feel a level of discrimination or the feeling that some people didn’t want others to be successful and move up within society. Such humanists had disagreements because they viewed a person’s place in society differently. They may not have agreed on how a person’s responsibility to their society could be more meaningful.

There were humanists that liked the idea of people being more active citizens within their country or city. This mean they were for citizens having a say during the political process. In short, there was a new group and old group of humanists and they clashed in different areas as time moved forward. The old humanists seemed to dislike change or they felt the way things were being done did not need to change at all. The new humanists saw more opportunities that would help citizens obtain some form of leadership that would encourage others to take more action in making themselves better. In many cases, this meant getting more education from reputable sources that would be beneficial for themselves and their society.

Humanists that disagree tend to share similar ways of thinking that included being more open with flexible thinking. Some are more for thinking about future possibilities instead of being stuck constantly thinking about the past. There are humanists that have made considerable contributions through teachings that promote positive growth of one’s life. It later spread to other parts of the world while making creative contributions through written works and using religious beliefs as a form of guidance as they helped change views of the world.
